Why Subscribe?
A professional kitchen or salon runs through a blade's working edge far faster than most people realise. A restaurant line-knife used eight hours a day drops out of peak sharpness inside four weeks; a barber's convex shear losing half a degree of cutting angle feels dramatically different in the hand. Subscriptions exist so your team never has to notice — tools leave with us on a predictable cycle and come back at factory-new specification.
What every tier includes
Every subscription — culinary and barbering, Bronze through Gold — includes complete hand-sharpening on Japanese water stones, geometry restoration, tensioning and balancing (for shears), mobile collection and return across Newcastle, Durham, Gateshead, and Sunderland, and priority response times. Higher tiers add emergency callouts, loaner knives during service, and faster turnaround windows.
Flexible across tools and industry
Subscriptions aren't locked to a single knife or shear. The item count runs across your whole roster — bring three paring knives and a Damascus gyuto in one month, a cleaver and two chef knives the next. Barber subscriptions run the same way across shears, thinning scissors, and cut-throat razors. If your usage pattern changes, we re-scope the tier with you at renewal.
Subscription FAQs
Can I pause or cancel a subscription?
Yes. Subscriptions run month-to-month (or quarterly for barber Bronze) with no long-term contract. Pause for a month, cancel at renewal, or upgrade between tiers — just let us know before the next scheduled rotation.
What happens if I need a knife sharpened urgently between rotations?
Gold-tier subscribers get one emergency callout per month included. Silver and Bronze subscribers pay the standard tariff with priority scheduling over non-subscribers.
Do the items carry over if I don't use my full allowance?
Unused item allowances don't roll over month to month — the subscription is priced on capacity, not credit. Most kitchens and salons find the allowance matches their working tool rotation almost exactly.
Is collection really included?
Yes. Mobile collection and return across Newcastle, Durham, Gateshead, and Sunderland is part of every tier. For locations outside those areas we can arrange collection at an additional cost — contact us for a quote.
